Job Title: Quality Control Inspector
Job Description
The Quality Control Inspector plays a hands-on role in performing receiving inspections, in-process inspections, and quality verification activities for portable energy storage products. This position works closely with Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to ensure all products meet internal quality standards and customer requirements. The role focuses on inspecting supplier hardware, reviewing technical documentation and certifications, documenting non-conformances, supporting quality management system initiatives, and driving continuous improvement throughout build operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform receiving inspections on incoming mechanical and electrical hardware to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct in-process inspections during manufacturing and assembly to ensure products meet internal and customer requirements at each stage.
- Inspect supplier hardware and components for dimensional accuracy, workmanship, and adherence to engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Review technical documentation, vendor material certifications, and related quality records to confirm completeness and accuracy.
- Document non-conformances clearly and accurately, including detailed descriptions, measurements, and supporting evidence.
- Support corrective action processes by participating in root cause analysis and recommending appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Work directly with engineers, technicians, and supply chain teams to identify, communicate, and resolve quality issues in a timely manner.
- Enforce quality standards and procedures independently, ensuring consistent application across production and inspection activities.
- Support quality management system initiatives aligned with ISO 9001 and AS9100 requirements.
- Participate in material review board activities, including evaluation and disposition of non-conforming materials and assemblies.
- Assist in continuous improvement efforts within build operations by providing quality feedback and suggesting process enhancements.
- Utilize paperless work instructions and Microsoft Office tools to record inspection data, prepare reports, and maintain quality documentation.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T to determine inspection criteria and acceptance standards.
- Verify proper assembly and integration of mechanical and electrical systems according to technical specifications.
- Maintain strong attention to detail and ensure all inspection activities are performed safely and in compliance with OSHA and workplace safety standards.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 3 years of direct hardware inspection experience in aerospace, renewable energy, military, manufacturing, or similar hardware-focused environments.
- Experience performing receiving and in-process inspections on mechanical and/or electrical hardware.
- At least 1 year of experience interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.
- Proven ability to document non-conformances and support corrective action processes.
- Ability to work directly with engineers, technicians, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to independently enforce quality standards.
- Understanding of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems.
- Experience with mechanical assembly and electrical assembly in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with incoming inspection and supplier quality activities.
- Knowledge of material review board processes and non-conformance reporting.
- Experience with root cause analysis and quality assurance in manufacturing operations.
- Ability to interpret vendor material certifications and technical documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Quality, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of quality inspection or manufacturing experience.
- Experience supporting or operating within ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems.
- Experience utilizing paperless work instructions and digital documentation systems.
- Knowledge of OSHA and workplace safety standards.
- Experience in supplier quality, quality control, and quality inspection for hardware products.
- Familiarity with manufacturing quality systems and quality management systems.
- Ability to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within production and build operations.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $79040.00 - $93600.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
