Job Description
This position plays a pivotal role in supporting the Parts, Service & Technical Division by contributing to the business objectives of enhancing Fixed-First-Visit rates. The role involves developing impactful technical training content, documents, and materials based on thorough market studies and needs analyses. The position aims to educate dealership personnel, particularly technicians, on various topics such as vehicle systems, emerging technologies, and diagnostic procedures, thereby ensuring a higher level of technical proficiency and service accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain online self-study modules, accounting for 40% of the role.
- Create and update training center skill modules, comprising 30% of the responsibilities.
- Conduct market studies and needs analyses, identifying action plans to improve performance metrics, contributing 15% to the role.
- Complete assigned special projects as needed, representing 15% of the responsibilities.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Automotive Technology or a related field from an accredited technical institute or trade school.
- 5 to 7 years of hands-on technical or mechanical experience in the automotive industry, with a strong understanding of vehicle systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures.
- ASE certified in areas A1-A8, with L1 & L3 preferred.
- Proficient in using Honda Diagnostic System (i-HDS), Service Information System (SIS), and Interactive Network (iN).
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe software, and general AI usage for documentation and content development.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in the training and publications development process is a plus.
- Strong ability to conduct on-vehicle repairs, diagnosis, and technical evaluations.
Work Environment
The work environment is centered around using advanced diagnostic systems and service information systems. Candidates will be expected to work with interactive networks and utilize various technologies in a dynamic setting. Dress code is professional, and the role may require occasional travel to dealerships for training purposes.
