Job Description
Join our dynamic engineering team to create innovative mechanical component designs and comprehensive design documentation. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing 3D models and drawings using parametric-based CAD software for fuel system components, tackling functional and manufacturing challenges, and participating in problem-solving exercises.
Responsibilities
- Create 3D models and drawings for fuel system components using parametric-based CAD software.
- Utilize Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing and adhere to internal or industry standards to define component designs.
- Perform dimensional stack-up studies to evaluate assembly-level designs.
- Collaborate with the team to enhance lean manufacturing processes.
- Provide input on tooling, fixturing, and automation directly on the production floor.
- Draft tools and engage in Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFM/DFA).
- Contribute to documentation efforts, focusing on GD&T, DFMEA, mechanical engineering, assembly, and 3D design.
- Expert-level understanding and application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing or international equivalents.
- Proficient in CAD/PLM software, with potential experience in low-level FEA and CFD using CAD tools.
- Advanced knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes to optimize designs.
- Solid grasp of fundamental engineering principles such as heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and material strength.
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with all organizational levels and customers.
- Experience with 3D printing capabilities.
- Bachelor's Degree is not a necessity.
- Experience with CREO CAD package and Windchill PLM.
This position is located onsite in Fort Collins, working five days a week. The role involves collaborating within a team environment and requires a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Collins, CO.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $70.00/hr.
