Job Description
This role provides front-office support in a cardiology specialty practice by answering incoming calls, scheduling patient appointments, and delivering courteous and efficient customer service. The medical office assistant ensures that patient information is accurately recorded and that daily administrative tasks run smoothly to support high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Answer incoming phone calls promptly and courteously, directing inquiries to the appropriate person or department.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments in accordance with provider availability and clinic guidelines.
- Accurately enter and update patient information and appointment details in the practice’s systems.
- Provide clear, friendly, and professional customer service to patients, visitors, and other callers.
- Perform general administrative support tasks to assist the smooth operation of the medical office.
- Maintain organized records and documentation related to patient appointments and office activities.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to support daily workflows within the cardiology practice.
- Proficiency in administrative support tasks in an office setting.
- Strong data entry skills with attention to accuracy and detail.
- Effective customer service skills, including clear and professional communication.
- Ability to manage multiple phone lines and handle a high volume of calls.
- Organizational skills to manage schedules and appointment calendars.
- No professional license required for this role.
- Experience working in a medical or healthcare office environment is beneficial.
- Familiarity with scheduling systems or practice management software is an advantage.
- Ability to work collaboratively with clinical and administrative staff.
- Comfort working in a cardiology specialty setting.
The position is based in a cardiology specialty practice that operates Monday through Friday, typically between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 or 5:00 p.m. The environment is a professional medical office setting where staff support physicians and clinical teams in delivering patient care. Work involves frequent interaction with patients and healthcare professionals, regular use of office and computer equipment, and adherence to standard professional office attire appropriate for a medical practice.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fairfield, CT.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
