Job Description
Join a leading organization dedicated to providing innovative maritime surveillance systems, committed to revolutionizing ocean awareness for various sectors. As a Procurement Agent, you will be pivotal in the procurement of services, materials, and equipment, handling multiple purchase orders simultaneously, and ensuring effective communication across departments.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and route Purchase Orders and Professional Service Agreements for internal and external approval.
- Provide continuous support for purchase orders while managing over 10 requisition forms.
- Engage in direct communication with AP/Finance/Project teams regarding document statuses, project codes, and quotes.
- Participate in planning and budgetary development to support strategic business goals.
- Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with sellers and communicate these with the General Counsel team.
- Implement process improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
- Manage internal documentation to maintain visibility and communication within departments.
- Ensure all required seller documents are obtained and controlled.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Procurement Manager.
- Represent core values and adhere to internal policies and standards.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, Logistics, or Business Administration.
- 2-3 years of experience in a subcontract management or similar role.
- Understanding of supply chain management, subcontract/PO/PSA negotiations, and legal terminology.
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote).
- Ability to work efficiently in a hybrid environment.
- Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with government subcontracts and knowledge of FARS.
- Understanding of Incoterms.
- Knowledge of the maritime industry, particularly vessels and offshore capabilities.
Work Environment
This role is based in an office setting in Groton, CT, operating full-time, in-person from Monday to Friday during the 1st shift. The position requires the ability to collaborate with multiple teams and stakeholders.
