Patient Registration Specialist

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Our highly visible Patient Registrars are responsible for greeting and checking in patients, collecting co-pays and patient balances, obtaining insurance information and referrals, and updating patient demographics.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Registering patients, including gathering and updating demographic and insurance information
• Collecting co-pays and patient account balances
• Obtaining referrals
• Assisting patients with health histories
• Assisting Medical Secretaries with phones, patient sessions, and other functions in support of patient care

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of two years of experience in a medical office with experience in patient registration and an understanding of different insurance carriers and plans.
• Knowledge of medical insurances
• Prior EPIC experience.
• Ability to demonstrate a mature, dependable, and responsible approach while effectively assisting physician’s practice when interacting with patients, physicians, co-workers, and additional outside sources.
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
• Ability to multi-task. Detail oriented and highly organized.
• Reliable transportation for traveling to various sites.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Able to demonstrate and maintain a mature and professional approach when interacting with patients, physicians, co-workers, and outside sources

DETAILS:

• Schedule: Monday through Friday | First shift (40 hours per week)
• Pay: $20 - $22/hr. based on related experience.
• Pay Cycle – Weekly | Medical, Dental & Vision Benefits offered
• This full-time position will rotate between local offices in Hartford County. Morning start times may be as early as 6:30 a.m. based on Physicians schedules - flexibility is important for this role!
