Job Title: Lamination Technician
Job Description
The Lamination Technician operates and monitors lamination and coating equipment to ensure the precise application of solvent-based adhesives onto moving materials. This role focuses on maintaining consistent coating quality through careful machine adjustments, real-time monitoring, and efficient product changeovers, supporting the production of high-performance textile materials.
Responsibilities
- Control the proper application of solvent-based adhesives to moving material running through a reverse roll coating head.
- Observe and adjust machine settings to achieve an even and consistent adhesive laydown on the material.
- Monitor the wet adhesive application for coating flaws and make immediate corrections to maintain quality standards.
- Refer to a computer screen that depicts the adhesive laydown in real time and use this information to fine-tune the process.
- Follow written instructions and accept verbal direction from the Lead Laminating Operator to meet production requirements.
- Perform computer interfacing and querying as needed to operate, adjust, and monitor lamination and coating equipment.
- Carry out expeditious product changeovers to minimize downtime and maximize machine throughput.
- Complete thorough cleanups of equipment and work area during and after changeovers to support efficient and safe operation.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to support machine operation, adjustments, and basic maintenance tasks.
- Contribute to general production activities, including assembly and handling of laminated materials, as needed to meet production goals.
- Read and interpret blueprints or production documents to understand product specifications and process requirements.
Essential Skills
- Experience operating production machinery such as lamination, coating, extrusion, or related equipment.
- Ability to control and monitor solvent-based adhesive application on moving materials using a reverse roll coating head.
- Skill in observing and adjusting machine settings to maintain even adhesive laydown and consistent coating quality.
- Ability to monitor real-time computer displays and use this information to make process adjustments.
- Capability to understand and follow written instructions and accept verbal direction in a fast-paced production environment.
- Basic computer skills, including interfacing and querying production systems.
- Troubleshooting skills for machines and production processes to resolve issues quickly.
- Manual dexterity for handling materials, operating equipment, and using tools safely and accurately.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints or production drawings.
- Comfort working with solvents and adhesives in a controlled production setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in general production, machine operating, or manufacturing environments.
- Experience as a Lamination Technician, Lamination Operator, Coating Operator, Extrusion Operator, Chemical Operator, or Chemical Technician.
- Familiarity with lamination processes, coating operations, and adhesive application.
- Experience working in cleanroom or controlled environments.
- Assembly experience related to textiles, laminates, or similar products.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools for basic adjustments and maintenance.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a production team and communicate clearly with leads and coworkers.

Work Environment
This is a third-shift position, working Monday through Friday from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., with a shift differential provided for overnight hours. The role takes place in a production environment that includes lamination, coating, and related machinery, as well as computer interfaces for real-time process monitoring. You will work around solvents and adhesives in a controlled setting and may also support cleanroom-style or precision-focused operations. The environment is geared toward efficient, continuous production of textile materials, with an emphasis on safety, cleanliness during changeovers and cleanups, and collaboration across the production team.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Putnam, CT.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
