Engineering Manager
About the Opportunity

The Engineering Manager will provide both strategic and hands-on leadership, partnering closely with Operations, Quality, and Technical teams to drive performance, develop engineering talent, and support the growth of manufacturing capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of engineers supporting manufacturing operations.
- Drive process improvements focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
- Provide technical leadership and support for complex manufacturing and production challenges.
- Partner closely with Operations to align engineering priorities with production objectives.
- Oversee manufacturing processes, equipment, and engineering projects to support operational goals.
- Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for process, quality, and reliability issues.
- Support capital projects, equipment installations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Establish and maintain engineering standards, best practices, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, R&D, Maintenance, and Manufacturing.
- Mentor and develop engineers while fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies, materials, and manufacturing methods to improve site performance.
- Support multi-site collaboration and sharing of engineering best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 8+ years of engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience leading engineers, technical teams, or manufacturing personnel.
- Strong experience in process engineering, manufacturing operations, and continuous improvement.
- Experience supporting capital projects, equipment implementation, and process optimization initiatives.
- Proven ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within chemical manufacturing, specialty chemicals, industrial processing, or other complex manufacturing environments.
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience.
- Experience leading cross-functional projects with organization-wide impact.
- Knowledge of reliability engineering, operational excellence, and manufacturing best practices.
- Master's Degree in Engineering or a related field.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of West Haven, CT.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $125000.00 - $165000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
