This role involves setting up, operating, and monitoring industrial equipment such as rolling mills, CNC machines, press brakes, punch presses, and lathes in a fabrication shop environment. You ensure machines run efficiently, products meet precise specifications, and all work follows strict safety and quality standards. You also support routine maintenance, assist with troubleshooting, and contribute to a collaborative, safety-focused team.
Pay: Up to $23/hour

Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor industrial machinery including rolling mills, CNC machines, press brakes, punch presses, and lathes.
- Adjust machine settings and controls to meet product specifications and maintain consistent quality.
- Load raw materials into machines and safely handle, remove, and organize finished products.
- Inspect finished parts and products using measuring tools such as tape measures and other inspection equipment to verify accuracy and quality.
- Read and interpret blueprints and production drawings to ensure correct dimensions and tolerances.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on machines, such as cleaning, lubrication, and basic adjustments.
- Identify machine issues, malfunctions, or irregularities and coordinate with the maintenance team for repairs.
- Monitor production processes and make timely adjustments to optimize efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Follow all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and report hazards or unsafe conditions promptly.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area around machines and production lines.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and maintenance personnel to coordinate workflow and resolve issues.
- Participate in training sessions to develop and enhance machine operation, troubleshooting, and safety skills.
- Utilize computer software as required for machine operation, production tracking, or documentation.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by suggesting process enhancements related to machine operation and product quality.
Essential Skills
- At least 2 years of experience operating machinery in a steel plant or similar industrial setting.
- Proven experience operating and troubleshooting industrial machinery such as rolling mills, press brakes, punch presses, CNC machines, and lathes.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills for identifying and resolving machine-related issues.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and production drawings.
- Proficiency in machine operation and setup, including precise adjustments to meet specifications.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Ability to utilize computer software related to machine operation or production processes.
- Capability to use measuring tools such as tape measures and other inspection equipment accurately.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and safely handle materials and components.
- Comfort working in an industrial fabrication environment with exposure to heat, noise, and heavy machinery.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.
