Medical Assistant - Jacksonville, FL

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Assistant to join our urgent care clinic. The ideal candidate will assist with a variety of clinical tasks and ensure smooth operations within the clinic.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient demographics and update electronic health records (EHR)
• Triage patients based on symptoms and urgency of care
• Assist with patient care, including taking vitals and medical histories
• Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families
• Support front desk operations as needed
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and medical terminology standards

Essential Skills

• 1+ year of experience in a fast-paced clinic environment
• Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
• Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures
• Strong customer service skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Preferred but not required: MA diploma or certification
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Work Environment

The role is based onsite at a primary care clinic, where you will see between 20-30 patients a day. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 8am to 5pm.
