Job Title: Welder Assembler
Shift: 8am-5pm Mon-Fri
Pay: $17-$19.00/hr depending on experience
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Welder Assembler to join our team in constructing safe rooms. This role involves a combination of MIG welding and various assembly tasks, including building wall panels, installing flooring, ceilings, doors and painting. You'll utilize hand and power tools to measure and cut materials accurately. The position requires teamwork, as you will work in groups of 4-6, following drawings which you will be taught to read.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding with a potential for TIG welding.
- Construct safe rooms by building wall panels and installing drywall.
- Utilize hand and power tools to measure and cut materials.
- Work collaboratively in teams of 4-6 to complete construction tasks.
- Follow construction drawings and learn to read them effectively.
- Spend approximately 50% of the time welding and 50% on other shop tasks, initially focusing on panel building.
Essential Skills
- Proficient in MIG welding and able to pass a weld test.
- Experience in construction, assembly, fabrication, or a shop setting.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools.
- Ability to read a tape measure down to the 16th inch.
- Comfortable reading tape measures and squares, and cutting products to size.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with TIG welding is a plus.
- Knowledge of using chop saws, bandsaws, and shears is beneficial.

Work Environment
You will work in a smaller open-air shop with a very diverse workforce. The role involves collaboration in teams, and there is an expectation to travel approximately three times a year, each trip lasting about two weeks.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.50/hr.
