This role involves supporting daily operations in a shop environment by loading and unloading materials, counting and organizing steel inventory, and learning to operate equipment such as a crane with a remote. You will stand for extended periods, use hand and power tools, and develop skills in cutting, grinding, and painting metal components while maintaining a clean and safe work area.
Responsibilities- Load and unload steel and other materials safely and efficiently using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Operate a crane with a remote after receiving on-the-job training, following all safety procedures.
- Count and track steel inventory accurately to support production needs.
- Learn and perform cutting, grinding, and painting tasks on metal materials as directed.
- Use hand tools, power tools, cutting tools, grinders, and saws to complete daily assignments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by regularly cleaning tools, equipment, and work surfaces.
- Stand for up to 8 hours per shift while performing production and general labor tasks.
- Follow instructions carefully, ask questions when needed, and demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills.
- Support general production tasks as needed to ensure efficient shop operations.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment as required.
- Ability to perform general labor and production tasks in a shop environment.
- Basic English communication skills to understand instructions and safety guidelines.
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per day while performing physical tasks.
- Willingness and ability to learn new skills, including crane operation, cutting, grinding, and painting.
- Comfort using hand tools and power tools, including grinders, cutting tools, and saws.
- Ability to load and unload materials safely and efficiently.
- Capability to count and manage basic inventory of steel and other materials.
- Desire to stay long term with the company and grow within the role.
- Experience with painting, grinding, or metal fabrication is helpful but not required.
- Familiarity with shop tools such as grinders, saws, and cutting tools is an advantage.
- Previous experience in a production, warehouse, or general labor role is beneficial.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude toward learning and teamwork.

Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a shop environment under a shed, which can be hot at times. You will work with hand tools, power tools, cutting tools, grinders, saws, and a crane operated by remote control. The role requires standing for most of an 8-hour shift and performing physical tasks such as lifting, loading, and unloading materials. Standard hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a 30-minute break.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
