Job Title: Metal Finisher
Shift: 5:30am-4:00pm Mon-Thurs (Overtime available Fri/Sat)

Job Description
Join a dynamic team dedicated to manufacturing large, custom, special-purpose vehicles. As a Surface Finisher, you will perform duties such as sanding, grinding, and repairing units in preparation for welding, assembly, or paint, all while ensuring quality and meeting specifications.
Responsibilities
- Sand, grind, bevel, and prepare parts for welding.
- Feather, flute, flat and level grind surfaces to eliminate stress areas.
- Remove sharp edges, dents, and substrate defects.
- Work from process sheets, shop orders, and blueprints.
- Clean components by removing grit, grease, and other contaminants.
- Inspect structures for defects like dents and rough welds.
- Repair defects using fillers, sand, and apply primer as needed.
- Wire brush, grind, and buff welds to meet cosmetic criteria.
- Recognize and address weld defects such as fractures and distortions.
- Change grades of abrasives to suit finishing requirements.
- Remove and refit components such as doors using appropriate tools.
- Flat surface sand with precision to meet aesthetic standards.
Essential Skills
- Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16th of an inch.
- Strong attendance, attitude, and work ethic.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Teamwork and willingness to assist others.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with hand and powered tools, spraying equipment, forklifts, and fixtures.
- Proficient in using sanders, grinders, tape measures, squares, and files.

Work Environment
The role is based in an open-air manufacturing facility, which can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. The shift is from 5:30 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Thursday. Voluntary overtime is typically available on Fridays and Saturdays from 5:30 AM to 10:30 AM, with possibilities for additional hours during the week.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ocala, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $16.50 - $21.50/hr.
