Job Description
Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implement a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
- Oversee the production of periodic financial reports; ensure that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
- Recommend benchmarks to measure the company’s performance.
- Produce the annual budget and forecasts; report significant budget differences to management.
- Provide financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
- Work with external auditors and provide necessary information for the annual audit.
- File quarterly and annual reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Develop relationships with accounts and perform collection tasks on an ongoing basis.
- Develop and maintain relationships with banking and vendor partners.
- Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.

- Previous experience supporting a $20 million+ operation.
- Strong attention to detail and strategic thinking.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Experience in the distribution or tech industry is most transferable.
- Type A personality with analytical skills and leadership qualities.
- Excellent management and supervisory skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Expert in QuickBooks.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
- Ten years or more of related experience required.
- Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.
Work Environment
- This position reports to the CEO/President and includes managing a team of three clerk-level accounting representatives.
- The role requires working on-site with business casual attire. The work schedule is full-time with a one-hour lunch break.
- The role involves prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, as well as occasional travel.
Compensation:$200000
