Job Description
This role oversees quality control for complex electrical construction projects involving high and medium voltage systems in the Pensacola area. The Construction Quality Control Manager ensures that all work on a high-voltage substation and related medium-voltage distribution infrastructure meets project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements, while coordinating closely with project teams to deliver reliable power systems across the site.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all quality control activities for high-voltage substation and medium-voltage electrical construction projects.
- Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific quality control plans, procedures, and documentation.
- Inspect and verify construction work for compliance with drawings, specifications, codes, and applicable standards.
- Coordinate and document quality inspections for major trades involved in the contract, including electrical and civil scopes.
- Identify nonconformances, document deficiencies, and drive timely corrective and preventive actions.
- Work closely with superintendents, project managers, project engineers, and trade partners to resolve quality issues and maintain construction standards.
- Review and approve quality-related submittals, test reports, and inspection records.
- Oversee and verify testing and commissioning activities for high and medium voltage systems, including transformers and related equipment.
- Monitor quality performance throughout the project lifecycle and recommend improvements to processes and procedures.
- Participate in project meetings to report on quality status, risks, and mitigation plans.
- Ensure that all quality control activities support a safe work environment and comply with applicable safety practices.
- Maintain organized quality records and prepare reports for internal stakeholders and relevant authorities as required.
- Minimum of 10 years combined experience as a Superintendent, Quality Control Manager, Project Manager, or Project Engineer on similar size and type construction contracts involving major trades relevant to this project.
- At least 2 years of dedicated experience as a Quality Control Manager on construction projects.
- Proven experience with medium-voltage electrical construction projects such as transformer replacements, data centers, photovoltaic (PV) farms, or base infrastructure and power distribution systems.
- Strong knowledge of quality control principles, construction standards, and applicable codes for high and medium voltage electrical systems.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Demonstrated capability to lead quality processes, conduct inspections, and document findings accurately.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with field teams, engineers, and project leadership.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills to manage inspections, test records, and quality reports.
- Experience working on high-voltage substation projects that convert power to medium voltage distribution systems.
- Background coordinating quality across multiple trades on complex construction contracts.
- Proven ability to identify and resolve construction quality issues in a timely and collaborative manner.
- Experience supporting testing and commissioning of electrical infrastructure.
- Ability to contribute to continuous improvement of quality processes and procedures.
The role is based on an active construction site in the Pensacola area, focused on a high-voltage substation and medium-voltage power distribution infrastructure. The Construction Quality Control Manager works closely with field personnel, engineers, and project leadership in a dynamic environment that requires frequent site walks, inspections, and coordination in and around electrical equipment and construction activities. Work typically takes place in a combination of outdoor and partially enclosed areas where weather conditions and typical construction-site noise, dust, and movement of equipment are present. The position requires appropriate safety attire and adherence to all site safety practices and procedures while performing inspections and overseeing quality-related activities.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00/hr.
