Job Title: Labor Foreman
Job Description
This hands-on Labor Foreman role leads field crews on a large commercial project, overseeing daily operations to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project schedules. You will coordinate closely with site leadership, manage crew productivity, and actively participate in the work when needed. The position is ideal for someone who has progressed through the field, understands construction sequencing, and enjoys leading from the front on active jobsites.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise field crews on a large commercial construction project, ensuring daily tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
- Manage day-to-day field operations, including planning, assigning, and monitoring work activities to meet project schedules.
- Coordinate closely with site leadership to align crew activities with overall project goals and sequencing.
- Work hands-on alongside the crew as needed, setting the pace and demonstrating proper construction methods and techniques.
- Interpret and use blueprints to lay out work accurately and guide crew members in executing tasks to specification.
- Oversee carpentry, framing, formwork, concrete, and general labor activities, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to project requirements.
- Monitor jobsite safety practices, reinforce compliance with OSHA standards, and address unsafe conditions or behaviors promptly.
- Ensure crews use tools, equipment, and materials correctly and efficiently to minimize waste and maintain productivity.
- Communicate clearly with team members about daily expectations, priorities, and any changes to plans or schedules.
- Support the use of construction software tools, such as Procore, to track work, document progress, and coordinate with the broader project team.
- Troubleshoot field issues as they arise and collaborate with site leadership to resolve conflicts or delays.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and promote a professional jobsite environment.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a construction foreman or crew lead role, preferably in carpentry or general labor.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction sequencing and jobsite operations.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints to lay out work accurately.
- Hands-on experience in carpentry, framing, formwork, concrete work, and general labor on commercial projects.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate crews in a field environment.
- Ability to use a tape measure and other basic construction tools accurately and safely.
- OSHA certification with a solid understanding of jobsite safety practices.
- Basic experience with construction software platforms such as Procore.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with site leadership and directing crew members.
- Capability to balance leadership responsibilities with active participation in field work.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in finish carpentry and commercial construction fit-out work.
- Experience in supervising a mix of skilled tradespeople and general laborers.
- Familiarity with managing both structural and finish phases of commercial projects.
- Comfort using digital tools and mobile devices to access plans, schedules, and project documentation.
- Proven ability to adapt to changing site conditions and adjust crew activities accordingly.
- Track record of promoting a culture of safety, quality, and accountability on the jobsite.

Work Environment
The role is based on a commercial construction site that includes both outdoor and indoor work areas, depending on project phase and location. The position involves daily use of standard construction tools and equipment, including tape measures, carpentry tools, concrete and formwork systems, and digital devices for accessing plans and software like Procore. Work hours are steady and aligned with typical construction schedules, with a focus on maintaining a safe, organized, and professional jobsite.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Port St. Lucie, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
