Role Overview This Engineer position will play a critical part in supporting the design, development, and manufacturing process. This role involves a deep understanding of mechanical and process piping design and the ability to create a complete design packages from concept to manufacturable drawings. The ideal candidate would be a self-starter with the ability to quickly solve problems by leveraging their broad knowledge base and experienced critical thinking. Key Responsibilities Review and interpret P&IDs Breakdown of design requirements Capture and organize the documentation for a design package (Concept of Operations, Requirements, BOM, CAD Models/Drawing, Vendor Data, Analysis) Design of process piping and mechanical systems (Design Considerations: thermal expansion, ease of manufacturing, minimizing pressure drop) Sizing and Selection of tubing, piping, and associated components (Valve, Regulators, Relief Valves, Check Valves, Filters, Instrumentation) Conduct Engineering Analysis (Hand Calcs, FMEA, Simulations) Participate in informal and formal design reviews Work directly with vendors on component selection Support root cause analysis and corrective action Support a forward-thinking attitude to continuous process improvement Provide mentorship to less experienced Engineers Work directly with the various departments (manufacturing, procurement, quality, commissioning, field ops, finance)
Additional Skills & Qualifications
6-10 years of experience in Mechanical or Fluid Design Engineering with at least 5 years in a manufacturing environment Experience with construction, fabrication, and testing of large-scale process equipment. Experience with ERP/MRP systems and data management tools (Autodesk Vault) Prior experience with leading design reviews and drawing approvals Knowledge and experience with ASME B31.3 Process Piping

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.00 - $57.00/hr.
