Job Title: Process Engineer
Job Description
The Process Engineer is tasked with enhancing plant performance and process control through the application of engineering principles, data collection, and analysis. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to foster continuous improvement, provide technical support, and ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Optimize manufacturing processes to improve process control and productivity through daily monitoring, analysis, and reporting of critical process data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and resolve process upsets.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Metallurgical Engineering from an accredited College or University.
- 2+ years of experience in process improvement within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in analyzing data, identifying trends, and proposing solutions for process optimization.
- Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams and champion change in a dynamic environment.
- Understanding of process flows, P&ID’s, and mass/energy balances.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong project management skills including time management, action planning, task prioritization, and meeting deadlines.
- Experience with process control systems and data historians (e.g., Wonderware, OSIsoft PI).
- High level of self-motivation and direction.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Six Sigma Green Belt Certification preferred.
- Previous experience with metallurgical processes preferred.
- Experience using statistical software and tools.
Work Environment
The role requires the willingness and ability to wear a full-face respirator mask directly against skin with or without reasonable accommodation. The candidate must also be able to work in a hot/high temperature production facility while wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas with or without reasonable accommodation.
