Job Title: Project Architect
Job Description
This Project Architect role leads and coordinates architectural projects from concept through completion, blending design excellence with strong technical, leadership, and organizational capabilities. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, manage client relationships, and ensure that projects meet design intent, quality standards, schedules, budgets, and overall client expectations. Responsibilities:
- Lead project delivery from concept design through construction, maintaining design integrity, schedule alignment, and budget control.
- Develop project scopes, staffing plans, schedules, and fee proposals in collaboration with firm leadership.
- Serve as the primary client contact, managing communication, expectations, and contractual obligations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships to support repeat business and market growth opportunities.
- Contribute to proposals and RFP responses by providing project-specific expertise and insight.
- Oversee coordination of design and construction documentation across all project phases, from schematic design through construction documents.
- Ensure design intent is clearly reflected in drawings, details, and specifications and is implemented accurately in the field.
- Review drawings, details, and specifications to maintain quality, consistency, and compliance with firm standards.
- Integrate consultant coordination, code compliance, accessibility requirements, and other regulatory considerations into project solutions.
- Partner with technical leadership to conduct project reviews and uphold technical and quality standards.
- Lead and mentor project teams, supporting performance, professional development, and knowledge sharing.
- Manage project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and interdisciplinary coordination to ensure timely and coordinated outcomes.
- Foster collaboration across architecture, interiors, technical, and consulting teams to deliver cohesive design solutions.
- Maintain clear, organized communication and documentation among clients, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, and profitability in coordination with leadership, ensuring financial health of projects.
- Monitor resource allocation relative to project scope and fees, adjusting staffing and effort as needed.
- Review consultant proposals, contracts, and invoices for accuracy and alignment with project budgets and scopes.
- Ensure timely billing, financial reporting, and overall financial accountability for assigned projects.
- Oversee construction administration activities, including review and response to RFIs, submittals, and change management processes.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress, quality, and compliance with design documents and specifications.
- Coordinate with contractors and consultants to resolve field issues and maintain design and performance objectives.
- Manage punch lists, project closeout, and final documentation to ensure a thorough and organized project completion.
- Contribute to business development efforts by supporting market growth initiatives and demonstrating a proactive, collaborative approach to client service.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or a related field.
- Licensed Architect or actively pursuing architectural licensure.
- 8–15 years of professional experience in architecture and project delivery.
- Proficiency in Revit for design and documentation.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for technical documentation and coordination.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite for presentations and design communication.
- Experience with construction administration, including RFIs, submittals, site visits, and punch lists.
- Experience in project management, including scope development, scheduling, and resource planning.
- Experience in design development and architectural design across multiple project phases.
- Experience collaborating with consultants, engineers, and contractors on complex projects.
- Strong understanding of building codes, permitting processes, and construction methods.
- Familiarity with contracts and regulatory requirements relevant to architectural practice.
- Demonstrated success managing multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
- Ability to mentor staff across both design and technical disciplines.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and drive accountability within project teams.
- Experience managing budgets and project financial performance.
- Understanding of business development processes and client relationship management.
- Proactive and collaborative approach to contributing to market growth.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- LEED accreditation is preferred and reflects a commitment to sustainable design.
- Experience with project management tools such as Deltek, Microsoft Project, and Excel.
- Experience using Microsoft Teams and SharePoint for collaboration and documentation.
- Experience in hospitality, laboratory, higher education, commercial, workplace, residential, mixed-use, technology, finance, or life sciences projects is beneficial.
- Experience working within integrated design teams that include architecture, interiors, planning, sustainability, and strategy.
- Interest in future-focused, user-driven design solutions that prioritize wellness, sustainability, and performance.
- Comfort working within a global, multi-office firm and collaborating across regions and time zones.

The role is based in a small office that is part of a global design firm, offering the benefits of a close-knit local team with access to international resources and expertise. You will initially work in the office alongside two designers and operate within a hybrid work model, typically spending three days per week in the office and the remainder working remotely. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
