Job Title: Sr Lab Technician – Pre-Operative Planning
Job Description
The Sr Lab Technician will produce high-quality pre-operative surgical plans that support robotically assisted total hip and total knee replacement procedures. This role focuses on precise CT scan review, 3D anatomical model creation, and accurate surgical plan development to meet team and department production targets while adhering to strict protocols and documentation standards.
Responsibilities
- Create and manage surgical planning cases using a proprietary case management system.
- Review CT scans to ensure they conform to established surgical protocols.
- Segment CT scans using specialized software to generate accurate 3D anatomical bone models for use in robotic surgery.
- Develop detailed pre-operative surgical plans for robotically assisted total hip and total knee replacement procedures based on digital bone models.
- Evaluate CT segmentations and surgical plans for accuracy of anatomical landmark selection, implant sizing, and implant positioning.
- Upload completed pre-operative plans to field-based personnel in a timely and organized manner.
- Document all activities and case details according to prescribed methods, procedures, and quality standards.
- Follow written work instructions exactly to ensure consistent, reliable, and high-quality output.
- Maintain a strong focus on individual productivity to help the team and department meet production targets.
- Communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing, to collaborate effectively and document work accurately.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in reviewing and interpreting CT scans and X-rays.
- Ability to perform precise data entry with strong attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology relevant to imaging and orthopedics.
- Experience with spatial analysis and 3D visualization of anatomical structures.
- Experience in biology, biological sciences, or biomedical engineering.
- Proficiency in English for speaking and reading.
- Ability to follow detailed work instructions and standardized procedures consistently.
- Competence with Microsoft Office applications for documentation and communication.

- Degree in Biological Sciences, Biology, or Biomedical Engineering.
- Strong scientific mindset with the ability to analyze and interpret anatomical and clinical information.
- Comfort working with specialized medical imaging and segmentation software.

Work Environment
This is an on-site position that does not offer remote work. The role operates on defined shifts, with 1st shift core hours from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 2nd shift core hours from 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. You will work with specialized medical imaging and segmentation software, a proprietary case management system, and standard office tools such as Microsoft Office. The environment emphasizes precision, adherence to documented procedures, and consistent production to support time-sensitive surgical planning activities.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
