- Design distribution layouts for line extensions, system upgrades, reconductoring, relocations, double circuits, tie-lines, and new construction projects.
- Prepare complete construction design packages, including drawings, documentation, and supporting calculations, to support project execution.
- Use design software and GIS tools, such as AutoCAD and ArcGIS, to develop accurate distribution designs and update project maps and records.
- Support permitting activities, including preparation and coordination of DOT permits, railroad crossing permits, and other required approvals.
- Collect and document easements and right-of-way information necessary for distribution line routing and construction.
- Conduct or support pole loading analysis using appropriate tools (such as Pole Foreman or similar software) to ensure structural integrity and compliance with standards.
- Ensure all designs and field work comply with NESC standards and applicable safety and engineering requirements.
- Coordinate closely with internal engineering teams, project managers, and field crews to support efficient construction and resolve design or field issues.
- Communicate clearly with stakeholders to clarify project requirements, design intent, and field conditions.
- Maintain high accuracy and attention to detail in design work, documentation, and record-keeping.
- Support both new line installations and modifications, upgrades, or relocations of existing distribution facilities.

- Experience working on double circuit and tie-line distribution projects.
- Experience supporting EPC-style (engineering, procurement, and construction) project delivery.
- Ability to work independently in the field and remotely while maintaining strong collaboration with the broader project team.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
- Interest in building advanced distribution design skills and growing into more complex design responsibilities.
Work Environment
This role offers a mix of field and design work, with approximately 40% of time spent in the field and 60% focused on office or remote design activities. You can work remotely for design tasks and travel to project sites across Georgia as needed, with occasional overnight stays. The position involves regular collaboration with engineers and field crews in a supportive, team-oriented environment that emphasizes communication between field and engineering.
