Key Responsibilities:
- Install, terminate, and test low voltage and fiber optic cables.
- Route cables through conduits, above ceilings, and between floors as per job specifications.
- Read and comprehend technical schematics, operation manuals, and maintenance instructions.
- Identify color codes for various cable types (568A, 568B, 6 strand fiber, 12 strand fiber, 25 pair, and 50 pair).
- Provide or relocate cable and modular connections.
- Assist in the installation of communications hardware.
- Complete projects within budget, on time, and safely.
- Maintain high standards of quality and professionalism in workmanship, customer relations, and teamwork.
- Submit all paperwork on time.
- Adhere to all project-specific and company safety requirements.
- Conduct field training and second-level problem evaluation using documented procedures and available tools.
Top Skills Required:
- Experience as a Low Voltage/Cable Technician (Voice, Data, and Cable).
- Proficiency in running and terminating Cat5 and Cat6 cables.
- Ability to read blueprints and use a multimeter.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Technicians must supply their own hand tools.
- Steel toe boots, hard hat, and vest are required.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality.
Work Environment:
- Active job site/construction area.
