Prepares sterile compounded medications in accordance with USP 797 and USP 800 guidelines. Cleans and maintains the sterile compounding suite. Restocks and manages IV medication and supply levels.

Responsibilities

  • Receives medication orders from team members for fulfillment and prioritizes them based on urgency.
  • Performs cleaning and maintenance of the sterile compounding suite according to the directions and schedule outlined in company policies and procedures.
  • Completes all hand hygiene and garbing requirements in accordance with USP 797 and USP 800 guidelines.
  • Calibrates compounding equipment daily and as needed.
  • Prepares compounded medications as outlined in each order while maintaining the sterility of the final product.
  • Accurately measures and mixes the correct ingredients into the appropriate infusion device.
  • Inspects finished products for defects and inconsistencies.
  • Labels each finished product with the appropriate labels and warning stickers.
  • Neatly packages finished products for final inspection and dispensing.
  • Restocks the compounding suite with medication and supplies as needed.
  • Performs additional cleaning, maintenance, and organization of the compounding suite as needed.

  • Pharmacy Technician certification highly preferred
  • 1+ years of experience within a pharmacy, hospital, or other similar medical setting
  • Associate's degree or higher in a related medical field
