PSG Technician | Electrical | IT Systems
Job Description
As a PSG Technician, you will perform routine, preventive, and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, adjustments, testing, cleaning, lubrication, and proper maintenance on assigned Platform Screen Gates (PSG) equipment. Your work will be guided by wiring diagrams, schematics, operations, and maintenance manuals. You will observe PSG system components and devices in operation to detect potential failures and locate causes of malfunction, responding to malfunctions and completing repairs as assigned. This role requires the use of electronic test equipment and specialized tools, adherence to safety rules, and participation in training programs.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine, preventive, and unscheduled maintenance on PSG equipment.
- Inspect, adjust, test, clean, lubricate, and properly maintain PSG equipment.
- Observe PSG system components and devices in operation to detect potential failures.
- Respond to PSG malfunctions and complete repairs as assigned.
- Complete operational, equipment failure, safety, and other reports as required.
- Participate in training programs as required.
- Comply with Safety Rules, Operating Rulebook, and first-aid procedures.
- Work in close proximity to the third rail, frequently requesting Red Tag, LOTOs, and hot stick application.
- Execute assigned maintenance reports and inspection tasks.
- Record and document maintenance and diagnostic data.
- Support in performing substation fault diagnosis, inspection, testing, modification, maintenance, and repair.
- Maintain and produce accurate maintenance records, equipment performance, and work accomplished using a computerized maintenance management system.
- Ensure corrective and preventative maintenance tasks comply with company safety policy and local regulations.
- Drive work vehicles when responding to emergencies and when required on duty.
- Ensure maintenance tools and equipment are calibrated and in good condition.
- Execute simple failure analysis and technical investigation.
- Perform additional job duties on unrelated systems, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic controlled systems, in accordance with training and qualifications.

Work Environment
This role is primarily based in a rail environment, requiring shift rotation, including weekends and holidays. The role involves working in close proximity to the third rail, and adherence to stringent safety protocols.
