Position Overview
We are hiring Millwright Apprentices, Skilled Millwrights, and Maintenance Technicians to support operations at a large industrial processing facility in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial machinery and mechanical systems.
Whether you're an experienced tradesperson or looking to grow your skills through hands-on training, you'll work alongside a team of skilled professionals in a fast-paced industrial environment with opportunities for advancement.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial equipment and mechanical systems.
- Service conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulic systems, and related processing equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Diagnose mechanical failures and complete effective repairs.
- Operate forklifts, aerial lifts, hoists, and other material-handling equipment safely.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication tools to complete projects.
- Perform MIG and TIG welding, cutting, grinding, and light fabrication as required.
- Assist with piping, plumbing, equipment installation, and industrial construction projects.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to all safety standards and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
- Work at heights, climb ladders, and access confined or hard-to-reach areas when necessary.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience working with industrial equipment.
- Experience in millwright work, industrial maintenance, manufacturing, construction, or a related trade.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Experience using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
- Comfortable working in a heavy industrial environment.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship, and teamwork.
Work Environment
This position is based within a large corn processing facility in Cedar Rapids, IA. The work environment is industrial and physically demanding and may include exposure to:
- Dust and airborne particles
- Industrial machinery and moving equipment
- Chemicals and production processes
- Varying temperatures and weather conditions
Employees typically work in crews of 5–10 skilled trades professionals while supporting a site workforce of approximately 120 personnel.

Monday – Friday
7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $40.00/hr.
