Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Safety Professional to coordinate and administer Site Safety Programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, local, and company safety and occupational health standards. This role requires providing safety resource support for assigned operating units, including training and permitting. The Safety Professional will deliver overall safety and health leadership, ensuring all employees return 'Home Healthy – Home Safe' each shift. This position involves travel, and a company vehicle or allowance will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Investigate any incidents or near misses and report findings.
- Attend and conduct safety meetings with tradespersons to instruct them on project safety practices and requirements.
- Conduct written daily safety inspections of work activities to ensure compliance with safe work practices.
- Take direction related to timely abatement and control of hazards.
- Lead or participate in incident investigations and emergency response.
- Conduct site inspections and track all corrective actions to closure.
- Perform job safety analysis and maintain jobsite-specific safety documentation.
- Coach, teach, and conduct safety training across the region.
- Provide additional support and assignments as deemed appropriate by the Health & Safety Manager.
Essential Skills
- 3-5 years of construction experience, including 2 years of on-site construction safety responsibilities.
- Bilingual is a plus in English & Spanish
- Specialized training relevant to the scope of work.
- OSHA 510-hour Construction Outreach Training or greater.
- Working knowledge of construction safety regulations and hazard control methods.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct safety training.
- Strong computer knowledge and skills.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Strong tracking and follow-up skills.
- Self-motivated with strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of risk, liability, and safety management.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Davenport, IA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
