Job Description
Join our team as an Assembler, where you will perform various assembly functions from start to finish. You will be responsible for advising team members of shortages or quality issues, inspecting each phase of assembly to ensure quality, reading and following production lists, identifying proper materials, and adhering to standard work, control plans, and written work instructions. You will use drills, screw guns, nail/staple guns, chop saws, routers, sanders, and various other tools and equipment as part of the assembly process.
Responsibilities
- Perform assembly functions from start to finish.
- Advise team members of shortages or quality issues.
- Inspect each phase of assembly to ensure quality.
- Read and follow production lists.
- Identify proper materials for assembly.
- Follow standard work, control plans, and written work instructions.
- Utilize various tools and equipment such as drills, screw guns, nail/staple guns, chop saws, routers, and sanders.
Essential Skills
- Experience in assembly and production work.
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools.
- Basic reading and math skills.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Capability to lift 50+ lbs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High School Graduate/GED/HSED.
- Experience in mechanical assembly and construction.
- Ability to use various tools and equipment effectively.
Work Environment
The work environment includes two shifts: 1st shift from 5am to 3:30pm and 2nd shift from 3:30pm to 2am, Monday to Thursday, with occasional Friday shifts. The facility is not air-conditioned, making it hot during work hours. The dress code requires steel-toed shoes but allows for flexibility otherwise, permitting shorts and t-shirts, with the condition of avoiding inappropriate attire. Employees are granted two twelve-minute breaks and one thirty-minute lunch break. Candidates with long hair must secure their hair in a ponytail or bun.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dubuque, IA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.20 - $22.20/hr.
