Job Title: Bioprocess Technician


Job Description

As a Bioprocess Technician, you will perform duties associated with aseptic processes, including weighing, measuring, counting, calculations, sampling, and verifications required for biological production processes. You will work in accordance with batch production records and comply with current good manufacturing practice standards, safety standards, and site procedures.


Responsibilities

  • Understand and operate fermentation, centrifuge, concentration units, and biological organisms.
  • Ensure all equipment, instruments, and production materials are released and available for use.
  • Perform transactions within the electronic inventory management system.
  • Oversee production processes, cleaning, environmental monitoring, and personnel.
  • Perform in-process batch quality checks per written procedures.
  • Follow safety rules and wear appropriate safety equipment.
  • Maintain proper safety practices at all times.
  • Create and update standard operating procedures.
  • Write deviation reports.
  • Complete all training as assigned, including general company procedures, area procedures, equipment operation, computer operation, safety, GMP, and others as needed.
  • Generate or collect new ideas about workplace and processes.
  • Read and interpret batch records, quality, and safety documentation.

Essential Skills

  • Basic knowledge in fermentation, centrifuge, concentration units, and biological organisms.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Aseptic technique.
  • Documentation and quality control.
  • Understanding of SOP and sterile processing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Scientific related experience is preferred if no degree.

Work Environment

The work environment involves being on the production floor overseeing batches and their quality. You will work within 5-10% of the time in the lab. The role offers three shifts: 1st shift (6AM-2:30PM), and 3rd shift (10PM-6:30AM). Overtime will be offered until fully staffed. Benefits include PTO and paid holidays.
