Forklift Operator / Warehouse Associate

We are seeking a dependable Forklift Operator / Warehouse Associate to join our growing team. In this hands-on role, you'll help ensure materials and products move efficiently through our warehouse by operating forklifts, handling inventory, receiving shipments, and preparing customer orders for shipment.

What You'll Do
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.
- Verify inventory against shipping documents and purchase orders.
- Stock, organize, and label products according to warehouse procedures and FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices.
- Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders using RF scanners and warehouse management systems.
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Replenish inventory and move materials throughout the warehouse safely and efficiently.
- Perform cycle counts and inventory checks to maintain accurate stock levels.
- Process customer returns and identify damaged or incorrect shipments.
- Palletize and stage products for shipment while ensuring proper packaging and product protection.
- Inspect outbound shipments to ensure accuracy and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and operating procedures.
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years of warehouse, shipping, receiving, or distribution experience.
- Experience operating a sit-down or stand-up forklift.
- Previous experience with order picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
- Experience using RF scanners, scan guns, or warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to safely load, unload, and move materials throughout a warehouse.
- Strong attendance, reliability, and work ethic.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work effectively within a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift certification (or ability to become certified).
- Experience working in a high-volume warehouse or distribution environment.
- Familiarity with shipping documentation, bills of lading, and receiving paperwork.
- Experience with cycle counting and inventory management.
- Knowledge of FIFO inventory processes and warehouse best practices.

Work Environment
This position is based in a fast-paced warehouse environment where employees regularly operate forklifts and other material handling equipment. You'll work with shipping and receiving docks, palletized inventory, storage racks, and RF scanning technology while helping ensure products move efficiently throughout the facility.
Safety is a top priority, and employees are provided with the tools and training needed to perform their work successfully. Steel-toed boots are required, along with warehouse-appropriate work attire.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Grimes, IA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
