Construction Accountant

Aston Carter is looking to hire a Construction Accountant in Hiawatha, IA. This position offers competitive pay with a top company in the area!

Job Description:

• Use job costing to complete construction continuation sheets, tracking project expenses.
• Tie construction project invoices to continuation sheet.
• Enter construction project cost and revenue information.
• Gather information, complete month-end financial close and consolidation of multiple company financial statements.
• Uses job costing to assign expenses and appropriate costs to projects.
• Compile paperwork for Tax Credit Construction projects and work with 3rd Party Accountants for Tax Credit compilation.
• Complete bank and other account reconciliations.
• Compile information for Tax Accounting group and complete annual tax adjustment entries.
• Provide property management and financial accounting support as needed.
• Proactively establish and maintain effective working team relationships and provide excellent customer service internally and externally.
• Performs other accounting duties including, but not limited to, downloading financial statement, loan statement or bank information as well as completing spreadsheet entry tasks as needed.
• Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience
• 3-5 years’ experience and desire to work in Construction Accounting
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel Knowledge.
• Experience in Construction Accounting and ERP Software a plus.
• Must be able to manage accounting projects with no supervision.
