Job Title: Production Associate – A Shift
Job Description
The Production Associate on A Shift supports electronic manufacturing operations by performing testing, inspection, light assembly, machine operation, and packaging to help meet customer deadlines. This role focuses on routine production tasks in a light industrial environment, where you will acquire job skills, learn policies and procedures, and work under close supervision while contributing to daily production goals. The position is well suited for individuals with electronic manufacturing experience or motivated entry-level candidates who bring a strong mechanical aptitude, basic computer skills, and a positive, flexible attitude.
Responsibilities
- Support production manufacturing activities to ensure customer deadlines are met.
- Perform routine testing, inspection, light assembly, machine operation, and packaging tasks according to detailed instructions.
- Assemble electronic components, including basic electronic assembly work that may involve through-hole or surface-mount soldering, using hand tools and following production standards.
- Interpret and follow basic blueprints, schematics, and work instructions to complete assigned tasks accurately.
- Meet individual throughput and production goals, including metrics for the number of pieces assembled within a shift.
- Handle light industrial assembly tasks, such as connecting components by hand, typically lifting no more than 10–15 pounds.
- Use basic computer programs, including internal systems, Excel for documentation, and Outlook for communication, to record and track work.
- Follow established policies, procedures, and quality guidelines, and seek approval for any deviations from standard processes.
- Monitor the quality of your own work to ensure it meets company and customer specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and support opportunities to improve quality, eliminate scrap or rework, and reduce waste in the production process.
- Participate in improvement initiatives, such as 5S or similar programs, to enhance workplace organization and efficiency.
- Adapt to changes in work plans, priorities, and leadership direction while maintaining productivity and quality.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members and cross-functional teams to complete tasks and resolve issues.
- Openly share information, knowledge, and experience with co-workers to support team performance.
- Take on additional assignments as needed and demonstrate willingness to help in other departments when required.
- Use time effectively to manage workload and consistently complete assignments on time without compromising quality.
- Maintain all required certifications and training for the role and apply new work requirements with minimal supervision.
- Keep supervisors informed of progress and escalate issues or concerns when necessary.
- Work safely and maintain a clean and organized work area in line with company standards.
Essential Skills
- Basic electronic manufacturing or general production experience; one (1) or more years of related experience is preferred.
- Ability to perform electronic assembly tasks, including working with hand tools and following basic blueprints and schematics.
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to navigate internal programs, use Excel for documentation, and work with Outlook.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with light industrial assembly tasks.
- Ability to learn and apply detailed instructions for routine tasks under close supervision.
- Attention to detail and the ability to monitor and maintain quality standards in all work performed.
- Capability to meet individual throughput and production goals while maintaining accuracy.
- Ability to adapt to changes in work plans, priorities, and direction from leadership.
- Effective oral and written communication skills for working within a team environment.
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a team and cross-functional setting.
- Self-motivation, reliability, and a strong willingness to take on additional assignments.
- Ability to maintain composure and a level temperament in a fast-paced or stressful environment.
- Physical ability to sit and stand for the duration of a 12-hour shift and frequently reach at waist level, with regular lifting of 10–15 pounds.
- Understanding of and adherence to quality policies, customer specifications, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent GED is preferred.
- Experience in electronic manufacturing, including through-hole or surface-mount soldering, is a strong plus.
- Expereince in retail, food service, other manufacturing, or similar fast-paced environments can be beneficial for entry-level candidates.
- Experience reading and working from blueprints and schematics is advantageous.
- Demonstrated interest in building a long-term career in manufacturing and progressing within the organization.
- Willingness to be flexible and assist in other departments as needed.
- Consistent track record of completing work on time without compromising quality.
- Up-to-date certifications and training relevant to manufacturing or assembly work are valued.
- Interest in participating in continuous improvement initiatives, such as 5S or similar programs.

Work Environment
The role is based in a manufacturing environment in Nampa with suitable lighting, comfortable temperatures, and a moderate noise level. This is a light industrial, general assembly setting where typical lifting is limited to approximately 10–15 pounds, and the work involves tasks similar to connecting small components by hand. The A Shift schedule runs every other Wednesday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., operating on 12-hour shifts. Team members have the option to alternate between sitting and standing during the shift, although standing will be required for portions of the day. Work is performed using basic hand tools, computers, and production equipment, with defined production standards and goals. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and adherence to established procedures while supporting collaboration and communication across teams.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nampa, ID.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
