Maintenance Mechanic
$35-42 per hour
Job Description
As a Journeyman Maintenance Mechanic, you will perform preventive maintenance, repairs, improvements, and modifications to production, utility, and facility equipment. This includes working on equipment such as fermenters, drying equipment, baggers, palletizers, pumps, air compressors, and boilers. You will also provide training on maintenance practices and serve as a maintenance advisor for project input. 2nd shift 3:00pm-11:30pm, train on 1st shift 7:00am-3:30pm.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, rebuilds, and improvements on various equipment.
- Provide training on mechanical equipment maintenance in compliance with company standards and regulations.
- Serve as an advisor on projects regarding equipment design, parts selection, and maintenance requirements.
- Conduct welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, and fabrication tasks.
- Assist with troubleshooting and diagnostics of equipment operations, working closely with operations to establish corrective actions.
- Conduct assembly, repair, and proactive maintenance for packaging, fermentation, utility, and facility systems.
- Review equipment operations to identify deficiencies or improvements to increase Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Read and understand blueprints for equipment installation and repair.
- Use precision measuring devices and machinist’s shop tools.
Essential Skills
- Expertise in troubleshooting, welding, repair, and mechanical tasks.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and blueprint reading.
- Experience with heavy industrial millwright/mechanic work.
- Proficiency in working with rotating equipment such as pumps and gearboxes.
- Understanding of electrical wiring and rigging.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to perform physical or mechanical tasks, including climbing stairs.
- Experience prioritizing and organizing work efficiently.
- Commitment to working safely and maintaining acceptable attendance.
- Ability to coordinate multiple activities and work effectively in a team environment.
- General maintenance skills and ability to complete safety-related training.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago Heights, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $42.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
