Maintenance Technician
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team on 3rd shift. This position is responsible for performing mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance to keep production equipment operating safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with industrial machinery, electrical systems, motors, hydraulics, and pneumatics in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and reactive maintenance on production equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Maintain and repair conveyors, gearboxes, mixers, chillers, proofers, ovens, and bagging equipment
- Work safely with electrical systems up to 480V
- Install, replace, wire, and troubleshoot motors
- Assist with equipment setups and production changeovers
- Perform welding and light fabrication as needed
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Document maintenance activities and communicate equipment status
- Follow GMP, safety, and company procedures
Qualifications
- 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Experience working with 480V electrical systems
- Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
- Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Ability to work 3rd shift and overtime as needed
Preferred
- PLC troubleshooting experience
- HVAC maintenance experience
- Food manufacturing or GMP environment experience
- Baking or food production industry experience
- Experience in a union environment

Work Environment
This position is based in a fast-paced manufacturing facility operating under GMP standards. Maintenance Technicians work closely with production teams to ensure equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and support continuous operations. The role involves hands-on work with industrial machinery and requires a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality. The schedule is primarily 3rd shift (11:00 PM - 7:30 AM) with overtime and Saturday work available based on production needs.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Chicago, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $65520.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
