Job Title: Senior Project Manager
Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to manage retail and restaurant projects, overseeing the entire client relationship from initial assessment through design concept presentations to final project delivery. The role involves working closely with design and technical teams to shape and understand project scope and presenting approved projects to clients. This position requires establishing and ensuring adherence to budgets, and promptly informing the Project Director or client of any potential variances to make necessary adjustments. Additionally, the Senior Project Manager will manage collections for assigned projects and identify new business opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Manage overall client relationships, ensuring a positive experience from project inception to completion.
- Collaborate with design and technical teams to define and understand project scope.
- Present and work with clients on approved projects.
- Establish and ensure adherence to project budgets.
- Immediately inform the Project Director or client of any potential budget variances and make necessary adjustments.
- Manage collections for assigned projects and inform the Finance Manager of any issues with timely collections.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities with existing and potential clients.
- Assign tasks, oversee work, and provide feedback to project staff.
Essential Skills
- 10+ years of Construction Project Management experience.
- 2-5+ years of experience in a Director or Executive role is a plus.
- Experience in commercial projects, preferably in retail or restaurant sectors.
- Knowledge of project management software such as Building Connected, Procore, and Microsoft Project.
- Experience writing and negotiating contracts for services, consultants, and contractors.
- Ability to communicate effectively and manage team members internally and externally at all levels of staff.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Strong project management skills.
- Experience in retail and commercial construction management.
Work Environment
The position requires working in-office five days a week, with occasional site visits. The office is newly renovated and located in North Chicago, near O'Hare. The office environment is tight-knit, with about 10-15 employees, offering a collaborative and supportive culture.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $57.69 - $67.30/hr.
