Weāre looking for a Civil Engineer who is passionate about renewable energy and ready to play a key role in designing distributed solar and battery storage projects (2ā20 MW) across the U.S.

š What Youāll Do
- Lead civil engineering design and scope development for distributed solar + storage projects
- Evaluate site feasibility including grading, drainage, stormwater, hydrology, geotechnical conditions, and site access
- Develop and refine site layouts and grading plans to maximize constructability, performance, and cost-efficiency
- Design drainage and stormwater management systems aligned with regulatory requirements and long-term site performance
- Plan and design access roads and utility routing for safe, efficient project execution
- Support foundation design for PV arrays and battery energy storage systems (BESS)
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, development, construction, and external partners
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously (typically 4ā6 at a time) while maintaining high-quality deliverables
- Contribute to design reviews, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Communicate regularly with internal teams to keep projects aligned and moving forward
ā Qualifications (Must-Haves)
- Bachelorās degree in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited)
- 5+ years of civil engineering experience in land development, solar, or transmission/distribution
- Strong proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Experience with:
- Site layout & grading design
- Drainage and stormwater systems
- Road/access design
- Ability to evaluate site feasibility across civil disciplines (grading, drainage, hydrology, geotechnical, access)
- Strong multitasking ability across multiple active projects
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a remote environment
- Must reside in one of the following states:
- Illinois
- Virginia
- Minnesota
- Pennsylvania
- EIT or equivalent foundational engineering experience
ā Preferred Experience
- Civil design experience in renewable energy (solar, wind, or storage)
- Background in transmission or distribution projects
- Familiarity with land development processes for large-scale or distributed energy projects
- Experience working across the full project lifecycle
- Interest in growing within renewable energy and expanding technical expertise

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.87 - $55.29/hr.
