Hiring for a Sr. Accountant/Accounting Manager to join a growing firm!

- 5+ years of accounting experience (bank recs, cash accounts, trial balance, AP)
- legal or law firm experience preferred
- QuickBooks Online experience
- Experience with streamlining processes and creating efficiencies
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with internal partners/external parties
Job Description:
Financial Oversight:
• Supervise the firm’s cash flow, ensuring effective fund management.
• Develop strategies to optimize cash reserves and manage liquidity.
Accounts Payable:
• Oversee accounts payable, including tracking and allocating case-related expenses.
• Collaborate with attorneys to ensure expenses are approved and accurately assigned to cases.
• Ensure timely and accurate invoice payments.
• Reconcile accounts payable transactions and address any discrepancies.
• Manage vendor relationships, negotiating favorable terms and conditions.
• Maintain comprehensive records of all accounts payable activities.
• Implement internal controls to prevent errors and fraud.
• Generate regular reports on accounts payable status and performance metrics.
Client Trust Accounting:
• Manage client trust accounting functions, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Recognize revenues, process liens, and manage case-related expenses.
• Maintain detailed records of client trust transactions.
Process Improvement:
• Partner with a CPA firm to evaluate and enhance current accounting functions.
• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and best practices.
• Develop and document new procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Train staff on updated processes to ensure smooth transitions.
Payroll Administration:
• Conduct payroll runs and process bonus payments for attorneys.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll information for all employees, particularly attorneys.
• Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and timely submission of payroll taxes.
Software & Data Management:
• Utilize QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online for precise financial management and reporting.
• Implement and manage financial software systems to streamline accounting processes.
• Use Microsoft Word and Excel effectively for documentation and data analysis.
• Maintain organized and accurate financial records and reports.
