The Industrial Refrigeration Assembler builds and assembles commercial and industrial refrigeration and cooling systems from the ground up in a clean, fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role involves working with metal components and mechanical assemblies, using hand and power tools, and following blueprints and production schedules to ensure equipment meets strict quality and safety standards. It is a hands-on position that offers clear opportunities to develop into advanced fabrication, welding, machining, quality, maintenance, and leadership roles.
Responsibilities- Build and assemble commercial refrigeration units, frames, and component parts according to blueprints, work instructions, and production documents.
- Read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, schematics, and related production paperwork to complete accurate builds.
- Use hand tools, power tools, drills, torque tools, and measuring instruments such as tape measures and other gauges to perform precise assembly work.
- Install mechanical components, hardware, brackets, panels, and subassemblies onto refrigeration and cooling equipment.
- Perform quality inspections on parts and completed assemblies to verify they meet specifications and engineering requirements.
- Identify, document, and report defective materials, equipment issues, or assembly problems to the appropriate team members.
- Work collaboratively with welders, machinists, fabricators, and other production team members to meet daily and weekly production goals.
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements to maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area by following 5S principles and housekeeping standards.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by following standardized work processes and suggesting improvements where appropriate.
- Demonstrated mechanical assembly experience, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Experience assembling industrial equipment or machinery using hand and power tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, and basic schematics.
- Proficient use of measuring tools, including tape measures and other precision measuring devices.
- Comfort and competence working with hand tools, power tools, drills, and torque tools.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and components used in refrigeration or industrial equipment.
- Ability to perform quality checks and verify parts against specifications.
- Ability to follow detailed work instructions and production schedules.
- Strong attention to safety and adherence to PPE and safety procedures.
- Experience with industrial equipment assembly, refrigeration equipment, or sheet metal and fabrication work.
- Exposure to CNC equipment, welding processes, or electronic assembly in a manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with 5S or other lean manufacturing and workplace organization practices.
- Interest in developing skills in MIG/TIG welding, fabrication, machining, press brake operation, quality inspection, or maintenance.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment and collaborate with cross-functional production teams.
- Willingness to learn new skills, take on more complex builds, and grow into advanced assembly or skilled trades roles.

Work EnvironmentThis role is based in an industrial manufacturing facility that produces refrigeration and cooling equipment in a fast-paced production setting. The position works on a 2nd shift schedule from 2:15 p.m. to 12:45 a.m., Monday through Thursday, with the need to remain open to occasional Friday work depending on production workflow. The environment can be hot in the summer and tolerable in the winter, with fans, drinks, and sports beverages provided to help keep employees comfortable. Team members work around large industrial cooling systems, metal components, and fabrication equipment, and must consistently use required personal protective equipment and follow all safety procedures and guidelines.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.50 - $22.50/hr.
