Job Title: Shop Foreman
The Foreman will coordinate work assignments, supervise production staff, monitor quality, and ensure projects stay on schedule. This position requires strong communication skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support production staff across welding, fabrication, and assembly areas
- Assign daily work orders and manage workflow to meet deadlines
- Inspect work for accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications
- Train and mentor team members on equipment, processes, and safety procedures
- Collaborate with engineering and management to resolve issues and improve processes
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Track production progress and provide updates to leadership
- Assist with hands‑on fabrication or welding tasks when needed
- Enforce company policies and OSHA safety guidelines
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing, metal fabrication, or a related field
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of welding, fabrication, and shop equipment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Work Environment
The role is based in a clean, well-organized shop environment working alongside a team of approximately 20–25 machinists, welders, fabricators, and mechanics. You will work around CNC machines, welding equipment, fabrication tools, saws, and other industrial machinery.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Frankfort, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $32.00 - $32.00/hr.
