Job Title: Lab Coordinator
Job Description
The Lab Coordinator supports GMP laboratory operations by coordinating analytical testing activities, maintaining Excel-based tracking systems, and communicating testing progress to enable timely batch release. This role works closely with QC chemists and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate tracking of testing workflows, proactive escalation of delays, and timely issuance of Certificates of Analysis (CoAs) following Data Integrity review.
Responsibilities
- Track and maintain testing status for all analytical testing performed in the laboratory.
- Compile regular updates from QC chemists and manage Excel-based tracking tools to reflect current testing progress.
- Identify risks or delays that could impact batch release and proactively communicate these issues to relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinate with laboratory personnel to ensure timely completion of testing activities in alignment with GMP requirements.
- Generate and issue Certificates of Analysis (CoAs) following Data Integrity review.
- Verify that CoAs accurately reflect approved laboratory results and comply with data integrity standards.
- Maintain organized, inspection-ready tracking documentation that supports regulatory and internal audits.
- Support GMP compliance and data integrity practices, including ALCOA+ principles (Attributable, Legible, Contemporaneous, Original, Accurate, plus Complete, Consistent, Enduring, and Available).
- Contribute to effective sample management, testing tracking, and batch record release processes.
- Collaborate with quality control and laboratory teams to streamline communication and enhance overall testing efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field preferred; an Associate degree with relevant experience is considered.
- 1–3 years of experience in a pharmaceutical or GMP environment preferred.
- Basic understanding of laboratory testing workflows, such as HPLC and wet chemistry.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mount Prospect, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
