Job Title: Millwright
Job Description
This role focuses on maintaining, installing, and fabricating production machinery in a modern nonwovens manufacturing facility that supports the automotive and mattress industries. You will work primarily on 3rd shift, ensuring equipment runs safely and efficiently while supporting continuous production of thermal and acoustical nonwoven materials used in vehicle components and mattress products.
Responsibilities
- Install, move, and set up production machinery and equipment throughout the facility, ensuring proper alignment, anchoring, and safe operation.
- Perform mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on a variety of manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime and support continuous operations.
- Carry out fabrication work, including cutting, shaping, and assembling metal components to modify or repair machine parts and support custom installations.
- Use welding skills to repair or fabricate machine components, supports, guards, and other structures as needed.
- Inspect equipment regularly to identify mechanical issues, wear, or potential failures and proactively address them before they impact production.
- Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to support process improvements and equipment upgrades that enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Follow safety procedures and best practices while working with machinery, tools, and welding equipment to maintain a safe work environment.
- Support training and knowledge transfer by learning on 1st shift during the training period, then applying those skills independently on 3rd shift.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean, organized condition to ensure readiness and efficiency during maintenance tasks.
- Respond to maintenance requests and equipment issues in a timely manner, prioritizing work to support production schedules.
Essential Skills
- At least 3 years of millwright experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Proven fabrication experience, including working with metal components and assemblies.
- Hands-on experience moving, installing, and setting up machinery and production equipment.
- High mechanical aptitude with strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in welding for repair and fabrication work.
- Ability to work independently on 3rd shift after completing training on 1st shift.
- Comfort working with mechanical systems, relays, photo eyes, and related equipment in a production setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing environment producing components for automotive or mattress industries is beneficial.
- Familiarity with thermal and acoustical nonwoven products and related production processes is a plus.
- Ability to operate material handling tools and equipment to assist with moving machinery.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to equipment safety and reliability.
- Good communication skills to coordinate with maintenance and production teams.

Work Environment

There is some airborne dust that can settle on relays and photo eyes, requiring occasional cleaning as part of equipment maintenance. While there is no air conditioning, fans and exhaust openings help keep the environment comfortable, and the plant is described as not noisy. Maintenance staff use tricycles to move tools around the facility, and uniforms are provided, contributing to a practical and organized work setting. The primary schedule is 3rd shift from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., with initial training conducted on 1st shift before transitioning to nights.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $70720.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
