Job Description
This role is for an architect who manages projects from initial concept through construction completion. The architect leads design efforts, coordinates with internal teams and external partners, and serves as a primary point of contact for clients and contractors. The position involves hands-on production design work in Revit, close collaboration with drafters, interior designers, and other Revit modelers, and active participation in all phases of the project lifecycle, including occasional day travel to project meetings and job sites.
Responsibilities
- Lead programming, planning, and design efforts as the primary point of contact with clients, building strong relationships and ensuring that project goals align with client expectations.
- Manage projects from schematic design through construction, including coordination with contractors, clients, and internal teams throughout all phases.
- Produce high-quality construction documents, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency with project requirements.
- Perform construction administration duties, including leading and documenting project meetings with clients, contractors, and consultants.
- Generate punch lists, coordinate follow-through with project teams, and oversee actions through project closeout.
- Prepare presentation drawings and materials to support client meetings and assist with marketing efforts for new and existing clients.
- Develop project cost estimates and project schedules, helping to manage budgets and timelines effectively.
- Draft and develop contracts using AIA documents, ensuring appropriate scope, terms, and alignment with project objectives.
- Review drawings for conformance with local, state, and federal building codes, as well as relevant professional guidelines and standards.
- Prepare and edit project narratives and specifications, including proficient use of MasterSpec to ensure clear and comprehensive documentation.
- Use Revit BIM, Bluebeam, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and related tools to produce and coordinate design and construction documentation.
- Coordinate project work between disciplines, including in-house architecture, MEP engineering, interior design teams, and outside consultants.
- Take responsibility for the final review of contract documents to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance before issuance.
- Collaborate closely with the lead drafter, detailing drafter, interior designers, and other Revit modelers to deliver cohesive and well-integrated design solutions.
- Participate in occasional day travel to project meetings and site visits to monitor progress, address issues, and maintain strong client and contractor relationships.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture or a master’s degree in architecture.
- At least 3 years of architectural design experience.
- Experience performing project management tasks or having begun taking on project management responsibilities.
- Ability to perform production-level development of designs in Revit with a high level of accuracy.
- Proficiency in Revit for architectural design and construction documentation.
- Experience producing construction documents and construction documentation.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work directly with clients, including repeat clients, and represent the firm professionally.
- Ability to manage projects across all phases, from schematic design through construction.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite for documentation, communication, and project coordination.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with internal design disciplines and external consultants.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Professional architectural license is preferred but not required.
- Preferably 5 or more years of experience in architectural design with demonstrated project management experience.
- Experience in healthcare architecture or projects related to healthcare facilities.
- CHA certification is a plus.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam for markup and review of drawings.
- Proficiency with Adobe Suite for presentation materials and marketing support.
- Experience using MasterSpec for preparing and editing project specifications and narratives.
- Familiarity with SketchUp or similar tools for conceptual and visual design is beneficial.
- Open to candidates with a 4-year architecture degree who have strong, relevant experience, even if not pursuing licensure.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $36.06 - $48.08/hr.
