Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team as a Care Coordinator/Prior Authorization MA. This role involves rooming patients, obtaining prior authorizations, and supporting providers in delivering high-quality internal medicine care.
Responsibilities
- Obtain authorizations for approvals
- Handle benefits approval
- Perform phone work
- Sit at a desk for extensive phone and paperwork tasks
- Support five providers
- Manage referrals
- Assist with traditional MA duties as needed, such as taking vitals
Essential Skills
- Active CMA (AAMA), RMA, or CCMA certification
- Successful completion and graduation from a recognized medical assistant training course or equivalent experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Proficiency in medical assisting, patient care, and customer service
- Experience with electronic health records and appointment scheduling
- BLS certification
- Ability to room patients and take vital signs
- Positive, outgoing attitude and willingness to help out as needed
- Reliability and the ability to stand for long periods of time
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 1+ year working as a CMA
- Experience with EMR systems, such as Cerner
Work Environment
This position offers a Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm schedule with no weekend work and holidays off. You will be working in Franklin, IN, with free parking and a safe location away from downtown traffic. The providers are appreciative and supportive, fostering a friendly, team-based atmosphere.
There are opportunities for growth within the network, and the culture is very welcoming with regular staff events like food trucks and catered lunches. The CEO and practice administrator are both highly experienced and prioritize patient care. This role is working mainly Phone Triage and some back office responsibilities.
