Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description
This role focuses on performing routine and preventive maintenance on industrial machinery and equipment in an automotive manufacturing environment. You will troubleshoot and repair mechanical, low voltage electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to minimize downtime and support safe, reliable production operations. The position also involves assisting with equipment installation, maintaining accurate maintenance records, and effectively using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on industrial machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and reduce unexpected failures.
- Conduct regular inspections of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and low voltage electrical systems to identify potential issues before they lead to breakdowns.
- Develop and follow preventive maintenance schedules to extend equipment lifespan and improve reliability.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical components such as gearboxes, pumps, motors, bearings, cylinders, and chain-driven conveyors.
- Diagnose and resolve issues in pneumatic and hydraulic systems to restore proper operation.
- Perform low voltage (24V) electrical troubleshooting and repairs in accordance with safety precautions and standards.
- Assist in the installation, setup, and commissioning of new machinery and equipment, ensuring proper operation and safety compliance.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, parts usage, and equipment performance in line with auditing standards.
- Navigate, maintain, and improve processes within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track work orders and equipment history.
- Perform welding tasks as needed to support equipment repair and maintenance.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Collaborate with operations and other maintenance team members to minimize downtime and support continuous production.
- Inspect and service conveyor systems, including chain-driven conveyors, to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Essential Skills
- Industrial maintenance experience working with production machinery and equipment.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, including experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Hands-on experience repairing gearboxes, bearings, and chain-driven conveyors.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair pumps, motors, cylinders, and other mechanical components.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in low voltage (24V) electrical troubleshooting and repair.
- Ability to read and work from mechanical and electrical schematics.
- Experience with troubleshooting and repairing conveyor systems, especially chain-driven conveyors.
- Familiarity with safety precautions and safe work practices when working with mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to navigate, record, and update maintenance activities.
- Welding skills sufficient to support equipment repair and maintenance tasks.

Work Environment
This position is based in an automotive manufacturing environment with exposure to production machinery, conveyors, and industrial equipment. The employer provides the tools needed to perform maintenance and repair tasks. The role requires adherence to safety protocols, including an annual fit test and maintaining a clean-shaven face to ensure proper use of respiratory protection when required. Shifts include a 6:30 pm to 7:00 am schedule on a rotating pattern of 3 days on, 4 days off, followed by 4 days on, 4 days off, as well as openings on a third shift from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am. The environment is fast-paced and production-focused, with night shift differentials applied once you are officially moved to the night schedule.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $60320.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
