Job Title: Entry-Level Civil Engineer E.I.


Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity for a Civil/Environmental Engineering graduate with 0-3 years of experience interested in pursuing a professional engineering career in water resources and sustainable water/wastewater infrastructure. You will be a key building block for our new Huntingburg, IN office, opened in October 2024. As part of our project team, you will help communities and industries solve their most challenging infrastructure problems while fostering your professional growth in a supportive, team-based culture.


Responsibilities

  • Perform assignments requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out engineering tasks.
  • Work under the supervision of a project manager or lead team member.
  • Perform sub-professional engineering tasks such as fieldwork, inspections, engineering reports, permits, construction engineering, and simple design calculations.
  • Coordinate with contractors.
  • Review construction drawings and specifications.
  • Contact government officials for permits.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 0-3 years of Civil Engineering experience within Water/Wastewater, Transportation, Site Development, or Stormwater/Drainage.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.2 (to be verified via transcripts).
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Knowledge of drainage, civil design, grading, and stormwater management.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in Civil Engineering (preferred).
  • Passed FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) exam (preferred).
  • 1+ year of water/wastewater design engineering experience can substitute for GPA requirement below 3.2.

Work Environment

The office environment is laid-back but can be deadline-intensive at times. The team emphasizes a strong, family-like atmosphere and collaboration. Standard office hours are 8-5, with flexible options to start between 7-9 AM. There are occasional opportunities to work a modified schedule (Monday-Thursday: 9 hours, Friday: 4 hours). The dress code is business casual. Engineers will have a mix of office and fieldwork, providing a well-rounded start to their career.
