Job Title: Concrete Technician
Job Description
The Concrete Technician supports small to mid-size foundation concrete projects, focusing on slab pours up to 5,000 square feet. This role involves preparing sites, setting forms, digging footers, assisting with layouts, and performing high-quality concrete finishing. The position is field-based within a 60-mile radius of the Indianapolis 465 loop and requires hands-on construction experience, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Responsibilities
- Prepare sites for smaller foundation concrete pours, including slabs up to 5,000 square feet.
- Set forms for various areas according to project specifications and layouts.
- Dig footers and assist with layout work to ensure accurate measurements and alignment.
- Perform concrete finishing tasks, including using a hand trowel, broom finishing, edging, and cutting in joints.
- Use basic hand tools, impact/drill, tape measure, and tool belt safely and effectively.
- Assist with framing and finish carpentry tasks as needed, including metal stud framing when required.
- Work on a variety of commercial, institutional, medical, food processing, industrial, warehousing, and retail construction projects.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, following all site safety rules and procedures.
- Collaborate with crew members and supervisors to complete projects on time and to quality standards.
- Adapt to changing tasks and priorities across concrete and carpentry-related activities as project needs evolve.
Essential Skills
- 3–5 years of residential or commercial construction experience.
- 1–5 years of framing experience.
- Hands-on experience or exposure to concrete work, including pours and finishing.
- Ability to use basic hand tools, including hammers, levels, and measuring tools.
- Proficiency with impact/drill tools and safe operation of power tools.
- Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately for layouts and form setting.
- Capability to wear and effectively use a tool belt throughout the workday.
- Knowledge of construction practices related to concrete, carpentry, and framing.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including digging footers and handling materials.
- Willingness to work within a 60-mile radius of the Indianapolis 465 loop.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- OSHA 10 certification is a plus.
- Experience with finish carpentry tasks is beneficial.
- Experience with concrete, carpentry, or related technician roles is advantageous.
- Familiarity with metal stud framing is helpful.
- Ability to work effectively on commercial, institutional, medical, food processing, industrial, warehousing, and retail projects.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and reliability in a field-based construction environment.

Work Environment
This role is primarily field-based, with work performed both outdoors in varying weather conditions and indoors around finished or partially finished products. The work can be physically demanding and dirty at times, and it requires a strong commitment to completing tasks safely and efficiently. Projects span commercial buildings, institutional facilities, medical spaces, food processing plants, industrial sites, warehouses, and retail environments. Standard hours are Monday through Friday on 8-hour shifts starting at 7:00 a.m., with a paid lunch break and overtime as needed. Travel is required within a 60-mile radius of Indianapolis, and you will regularly use construction tools and equipment appropriate for concrete, carpentry, and framing work.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
