Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Description
The Operator is responsible for machine operation and packaging product according to established work instructions and standard operating procedures. This role ensures daily production targets are met while maintaining strict safety, quality, and housekeeping standards in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Process and package material in accordance with Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Meet daily production level requirements as determined by leadership and maintain consistent output.
- Follow all safety requirements and maintain a clean, organized production area through proper housekeeping practices.
- Maintain proper stock rotation of finished goods.
- Move materials using a skid steer and other material-handling equipment as needed.
- Operate a sit-down forklift to load bulk material into the machine.
- Run material through the machine, monitor performance, and make necessary adjustments to maintain proper operation.
- Move finished material to storage bins in a safe and efficient manner.
- Complete Work Orders and Production Records accurately and in a timely manner.
- Perform shift change cleaning requirements and ensure equipment and work areas are ready for the next shift.
Essential Skills
- Experience operating a sit-down forklift.
- Previous experience operating machinery and making adjustments in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with documentation such as Work Orders and Production Records in a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to consistently lift up to 55 pounds throughout the shift.
- Prior experience in production, machine operation, and manufacturing environments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in the food and beverage industry.
- Machine troubleshooting experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Comfort working in environments with dust and strong odors while using appropriate personal protective equipment.
Shift:
3rd shift: 10:00pm - 6:30am Sunday through Thursday **WILL BE TRAINING ON 1st SHIFT FOR UP TO 6 WEEKS.**
Pay:
$20/hr to $23/hr
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
