Accountant
Job Description
This role supports day-to-day accounting operations and plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial reporting and processes. You will work closely with the Financial Controller and an Experienced Accountant, supporting a variety of accounting functions across Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and general ledger activities.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day accounting support across multiple functional areas.
- Perform journal entry preparation and uploads in ERP, with SAP preferred.
- Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals and reconciliations.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support Accounts Payable processes, including invoice coding and entry, and assisting with freight/vendor-related invoice tracking.
- Review and maintain AP/AR aging reports on a weekly basis.
- Monitor and track credit card activity and tariff-related reporting.
- Assist with banking activities, including approvals and transaction review.
- Support check runs and ACH processing, including communication via email.
- Contribute to reporting and tracking initiatives, identifying areas for process improvement.
- Assist with collections review as needed.
- Work within multiple systems/tools to ensure accurate financial data management.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in Accounting, General Ledger, Reconciliation, Month-end processes, Journal Entry, and Accounts Payable.
- Mid-level accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of debits and credits.
- Experience with journal entries and accruals.
- Familiarity with ERP systems; SAP is strongly preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and formulas.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Work Environment
The role is based in a medical device company, working with a team of three employees in the Accounting department.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Jeffersonville, IN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $29.00 - $34.00/hr.
