Job Title: Repair Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The Repair Maintenance Technician sets up, maintains, tests, adjusts, and supports manufacturing machinery and related processes, including dies and molds. This role focuses on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide range of tooling and production equipment to ensure reliable, precise, and efficient operation on the manufacturing floor. Openings are available on third shift for electrical-focused, mechanical-focused, and multi-craft technicians.
Responsibilities
- Set up, maintain, test, adjust, and support manufacturing machinery and associated processes, including dies and molds.
- Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment and machinery to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Troubleshoot and repair a wide spectrum of tooling and production equipment, including both mechanical and electrical systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to diagnose issues and perform accurate repairs.
- Work with very tight tolerances, maintaining precision within .0001" on critical components and assemblies.
- Use a variety of precision measuring devices, such as depth micrometers, step micrometers, and dial indicators, to verify dimensions and ensure quality.
- Operate a surface grinder and other basic machining equipment as needed to repair or modify tooling and components.
- Support panel building and electrical wiring activities, including assembly of control panels and related electrical components.
- Assist with PLC troubleshooting, including identifying and resolving issues related to sensors, motors, and control logic.
- Perform basic machinist tasks, including general die mechanics, bench work, and soldering, to maintain and repair tooling.
- Follow preventive maintenance schedules and document maintenance activities accurately and consistently.
- Use MS Office applications such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook to document work, communicate status, and support reporting.
- Handle multiple tasks and priorities while working independently with minimal supervision.
- Adhere strictly to department safety rules and regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Work safely around hazardous materials and chemicals, noise, and moving machinery, following all safety procedures.
- Participate in CPR/First Aid/AED training and apply safety knowledge in emergency situations when needed.
- Train on day shift for an initial period before transitioning to third shift, learning equipment, processes, and safety practices.
Essential Skills
- 3–5 years of experience in a technical or manufacturing environment.
- Experience as a maintenance or equipment technician in a production setting.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on production machinery and tooling.
- Strong ability to read and interpret product blueprints and technical drawings.
- Demonstrated experience working with tight tolerances, including precision within .0001".
- Proficiency using precision measuring tools such as depth micrometers, step micrometers, and dial indicators.
- Mechanical and electrical experience, including maintenance and troubleshooting of production equipment.
- Experience with preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of machinery and equipment.
- Basic machinist skills, including operation of equipment such as surface grinders.
- Familiarity with tool and die work, general die mechanics, and bench work.
- Ability to read and work from electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Familiarity with MS Office applications, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to sit or stand for at least 90 consecutive minutes.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist.
- Willingness to adhere to department safety rules and regulations and consistently use required protective gear.
- Correctable vision to 20/40.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with electrical systems including proximity sensors, servo motors, production cameras, and related components.
- Experience programming and troubleshooting PLCs is a plus.
- Tool and machine experience, including soldering and general die mechanics, is a plus.
- Panel building experience, including control panel assembly and wiring.
- PLC technician or PLC troubleshooting experience.
- CPR, First Aid, and AED training.
- 2-year or 4-year Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or Technical degree is preferred.
- Tool & Die or Electrical Journeyman certification is a plus.
- Experience can supplement or replace formal educational requirements where appropriate.

Work Environment
This role is primarily on third shift, Sunday through Thursday, providing a consistent schedule and allowing for daytime flexibility. New team members train on day shift (approximately 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) for about 90 days to 6 months before transitioning to third shift. The facility is extremely clean and sleek, with a modern layout and an exceptionally well-equipped break room, contributing to a comfortable and professional atmosphere. The work involves exposure to typical manufacturing conditions, including noise and hazardous materials or chemicals; employees must wear safety glasses, hearing protection, and other required protective gear. The environment includes advanced production machinery, precision measuring equipment, electrical control panels, and PLC-controlled systems, offering exposure to current manufacturing technologies while maintaining a strong emphasis on safety and cleanliness.
