Job Title: Automation Controls Technician
Responsibilities/ Job Description
- Maintain and service labeling equipment, thermometers, cold formers, and vision inspection systems to ensure accurate and efficient operations.
- Support upgrades and improvements to material handling equipment (MHE) and APS control systems to enhance throughput and system reliability.
- Oversee work on 400-amp cabinets, transfer switches, and Pick system robots, ensuring safe and compliant electrical installations and repairs.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair material handling equipment, including conveyors, sortation systems, and other automated warehouse equipment.
- Support PLC-controlled systems used in automated distribution or warehouse environments, including troubleshooting and basic programming adjustments as needed.
- Work with power generation equipment and Delta control systems to support uninterrupted operations.
- Perform electrical troubleshooting, including low-voltage wiring, testing, and repairs on a wide range of automation and facility systems.
Essential Skills
- Strong electrical expertise, including experience with low-voltage wiring, testing, and repairs.
- Hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting material handling equipment such as conveyors, sortation systems, and automated warehouse equipment.
- Experience supporting PLC-controlled systems in automated distribution or warehouse environments.
- Ability to perform controls and automation troubleshooting, including identifying faults in PLC-based systems.
- Proficiency in using multimeters and other diagnostic tools to test circuits, sensors, and electrical components.
- Experience working with high-capacity electrical equipment such as 400-amp cabinets and transfer switches.
- Familiarity with maintenance management practices and the use of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
- Solid understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics in an industrial or automation context.
- Mechanical aptitude to support troubleshooting and repair of electromechanical systems.
- Discipline and structured problem-solving skills, including those gained through a military history.
- PLC programming capabilities to support modifications and improvements to control systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, including PLC troubleshooting and programming.
- Experience with mechatronics, integrating mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Experience with Delta control systems and power generation equipment.
- Experience with automation, controls, and maintenance supervision or leadership is beneficial.
This is a Permanent position based out of Whitestown, IN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $74880.00 - $79040.00/yr.
