We are seeking a reliable Heavy Equipment Operator to support excavation, grading, and utility installation projects across Kansas. This role involves operating excavators, dozers, loaders, and other earthmoving equipment to complete trenching, site prep, and backfill work safely and efficiently. Operators must follow grade stakes, read site plans, perform daily equipment inspections, and maintain strong communication with foremen and crew members. The position requires adherence to OSHA excavation standards, awareness of underground utilities, and the ability to assist with general labor tasks as needed to keep projects moving.
Responsibilities- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, and loaders for various earthmoving tasks.
- Follow grade stakes and read site plans to ensure precise work execution.
- Conduct daily inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with foremen and crew members.
- Adhere to OSHA excavation standards and ensure awareness of underground utilities.
- Assist with general labor tasks as necessary to support project progress.
- Proficiency in operating heavy equipment.
- Ability to read and follow grade stakes and site plans.
- Familiarity with OSHA excavation standards.
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with team members.
- OSHA 10 certification preferred.
- Confined Space certification preferred.

Work EnvironmentThe role involves driving from site to site, primarily within the Kansas City metro area. The work schedule starts between 6am and 7am and continues until the job is completed, typically ranging from 40 to 50 hours per week.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $27.00 - $37.00/hr.
